Do you wear your ugly Christmas sweater while fighting zombies, or simply chill in front of your homemade entertainment center while your automated cat feeder keeps your feline friend at bay?

Whatever you prefer, one of the following gadgets is sure to get your DIY motor running.

So check them out and then vote for what you think is the best. Something you wish you thought of, something you simply cannot live one more minute without? We want to know.

And it's important. The Gadget Freak of the Year will be honored at our Golden Mousetrap Awards in Anaheim, Calif. in February (Enter here today!), in conjunction with Pacific Design & Manufacturing. The winner will also receive $6,000, courtesy of Allied Electronics, as well as ultimate bragging rights! (Two runners-up will receive $2,500 and $1,500, respectively.)

The following 11 projects are listed in no particular order. Click the Gadget Freak logo below to begin. Then, click through the slideshow, watch the videos, and/or take a deeper dive into each project through the links provided. At the end, tell us who you think should win.

Voting will continue through Nov. 7. The winner and runners-up will be announced on DesignNews.com Nov. 8.
