The spread of the deadly coronavirus has been monitored and even controlled thanks to the latest technology. But growing levels of misinformation via social media have some professionals calling this outbreak of the disease an “infodemic” rather than an epidemic. Has technology reached a point where it no longer helps but actually hinders the medical efforts to deal with highly infectious diseases?
