Sensirion's SHT21 Humidity Sensor

Sensirion's new SHT21 humidity andtemperature sensor has been qualified in accordance with the AEC-Q100automotive standard. During the qualification process, the SHT21 was putthrough the relevant series of tests. Its aging resistance was confirmed by theHigh Temperature Operating Lifetime (HTOL) test, and its stress resistance was demonstrated by the Unbiased Highly AcceleratedStress Test (UHST). A Temperature Cycling (TC) test confirmed the compatibilityof the packaging material with the chip and substrate, and the ElectrostaticDischarge (ESD) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests proved therobustness of the sensor with regard to these parameters.

TheSHT21 humidity sensor passed all the tests without any permanent changes to itscharacteristics and therefore fulfilled the quality requirements of theAEC-Q100 automotive standard. This qualification, along with the reliability, stability and robustness it certifies, allows users to employ the SHT21 with proper,trouble-free operation.
