IFM Efector Inc. Releases New Line of Pump Diagnostic Pressure Sensors

IFM Efector Inc. has released a new line of pump diagnostic pressure sensors. The new PIM series performs the tasks of pump monitoring and pressure detection and alerts users of fluctuations in the system, including cavitation, trapped air, blockages and deposits.

When first installed, the pump sensor performs a teach function, where it measures the high-frequency pulsation signature and flow data of the healthy pump and stores it as a reference. Then, in instances where there are deviations from the average pulsation signature such as in instances of cavitation, the sensor acknowledges the variations and triggers an alarm.

The sensor’s display alternates between numeric system pressure and the operating state of the pump. It also includes a numeric push-button display for entering data. The list price for the PIM series is $573.
