Bytewise Measurement Systems' CrossCheck Laser Profile Sensors

ELECTRONICS:  Bytewise Measurement Systems releases new Embossing Depth software with the high resolution CrossCheckTM Laser Profile Sensors. It is perfectly suited for On-Line and Off-Line checking of embossing depth in the manufacturing process. Embossing quality is a leading aesthetic value that differentiates construction products such as siding, trim boards, and deck boards. Embossing imparts a wood-like characteristic to the appearance of the board surface that buyers find attractive.

The CrossCheckTM Profile Sensors projects a 1 inch wide laser line across the embossed surface, which reflects the light through a lens onto a CCD detector. The high resolution detector captures the physical geometry of the embossing depth and displays the profile on the operator screen. The fact that the CrossCheckTM Measurement System is non-contact insures a stable reading every time. This also compensates for vibration or pass-line movement of material passing through the measurement station.

While the CrossCheckTM Software Viewer displays the profile real-time, the integrating caliper divides the 1 inch width into smaller segments and makes a peak-to-peak measurement for each segment. The final caliper reports the maximum, minimum and average embossing depth of all the segments.

Starter kits are $8,950 or build a system starting at $8,490. The product is backed by a 30 Day No Risk Evaluation period and one year manufactures warranty.
