Magellan Roadmate 3000T: Big Screen, Low Power

The Magellan Roadmate 3000T simplifies GPS navigation, offering a 3.5 inch color touch screen and the option of receiving live TrafficKit updates of traffic incidents. It provides voice guidance to augment visual map displays. The 9-oz unit also doubles as an MP3 player and photo display unit. It’s based on Atmel’s ATR0663, which consumes only 12 mA in operation even though the chip includes GPS baseband and LCD controllers along with an ARM core. The 3000T automatically turns up the volume when vehicle speeds exceed 45 mph, as well as adjusting lights to the ambient environment.
