ThinGap's Coreless Motor technology line

Technology to be used in spaceflight

ThinGap's technology eliminates hysteresis, and the lamination power loss it causes, by incorporating a rotor containing the entire magnetic circuit as it rotates and eliminating magnet wire and iron laminations in the stator. It uses neodymium-iron-boron magnets to make a high-power density motor for low-power applications. The technology also offers zero cogging torque for low-ripple torque pointing applications, and a near-perfect sinusoidal back EMF for precision motor control. It will now be used in Rocketstar Robotics motors for spaceflight applications.
