UV light-curable coating

LITE-LOK(R)478 coating, a UV light-curable material, is recommended for use on a variety of surfaces, including metal and paint. It provides a dome-shaped coating that protects and enhances the appearance of pieces, and cures "on demand" in seconds upon exposure to UV light-compared to the standard 60 to 120 mins for urethane dome coatings. It has a low viscosity, contains no volatiles, and will not fog in humid environments.

Compound

This high-temperature compound, with an HDT of 250F, can be subjected to high-speed rotation from stainless-steel wheels and axles, requiring the wear resistant properties of aramid fiber. Lowering the wheel's coefficient of friction also lowers the engine's electrical consumption and reduces noise and vibration.

Alumina foam

Alumina in foam form reportedly allows engineers to combine the high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion, and good wear resistance characteristics of ceramic, with the favorable structural attributes of foam. Alumina Foam is a low-density, permeable structure of cells and continuous ligaments offering a high surface area-to-volume ratio, as well as a high strength-to-weight ratio. Applications for the aluminum in foam include use as catalyst substrates, filters, and structural material.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel has applications among makers of medical, surgical, and dental instruments because of its corrosion resistance and sterilization properties. Some of the grades included for these applications are 304, 304L, 420, and 420L for parts such as staple guns, endoscopic suturing, and cutting devices. Stainless strip, if required, can be rolled to specific gauges and tempers.

Coating

Codiac(TM)is a diamond and nickel combination that is designed to outperform carbide in abrasive applications. When applied to both Ferris and non-Ferris materials, it rates at 6,800 Vickers hardness. It has reportedly received favorable ratings for chemical and corrosion resistance. Because of its longevity, it is recommended for the paper, plastics, and food processing industries.

Pipe sealant

LOX-8 thread sealant was developed for use in medical equipment such as breathing apparatus, oxygen, chlorine, and nitrous oxide systems. It is oxygen safe and can withstand pressures up to and above 10,000 psi, and remains stable in temperatures up to 450F. It won't conduct electricity, because it is an insulator. Available in either a paste or grease (thinner), it is suggested for applications where assembly and disassembly is required.
