Socket Your High Speed IC Using Elastomer Socket with Accessibility for Temperature Control

The SG-BGA-7199 socket isdesigned for 13.5 x 8 x 1.2mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 10GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The contact resistance is typically20 milliohms per I/O. The socket connects all pins with 10 GHz bandwidth on allconnections. The socket is mounted using supplied hardware on the target PCB with nosoldering, and uses smallest footprint in the industry which allows inductors, resistors and decoupling capacitors to be placed very close to the device forimpedance tuning. The socket also incorporates a new quick insertion method sothat IC's can be changed out quickly. The socket features a hole in the middlewith mechanism for attaching thermal stream accessories. The application of thesocket is to verify the function of IC in a development system with specifictemperature by controlling the flow of thermal stream on the IC top surface.

The SG-BGA-7199 sockets are constructed with high performance and lowinductance gold plated embedded wire on elastomer as interconnect materialbetween device and PCB. The temperature range is -35 to +100 C. The pin selfinductance is 0.15 nH and mutual inductance of 0.025 nH. Capacitance to groundis 0.01 pF. Current capacity is 2 amps per pin.
