Sensirion's New filter Cap

Sensirion has just launched a filter cap for its latest generationof humidity sensors. The SF2filter cap is made of PBT, has an integrated filter membrane, and protectsSensirion's SHT2x humidityand temperature sensor from water, dust, dirt and various contaminants. Thefilter cap features a filtration efficiency of 99.99 percent of all particles>0.1μm and is designed to keep response time low.

The SF2 fits exactly to the external dimensions of the SHT21 andsoon-to-be-launched SHT25 (SOP Q4 2010), and is easily mountable after reflowsoldering. The SF2 is fixed by plugging the four pins into correspondingholes in the PCB. It can be glued for additional adhesion if desired. The SF2filter cap also serves as an adaptor for mounting the humidity sensor directly intothe wall of the housing. Using a sealing ring results in a waterproof mountingsolution that allows protection according to IP67 to be achieved.
