Playground for CAD

Interested in taking a peek at the CAD technology percolating in SolidWorks’ R&D organization? The company is now offering the engineering community a chance to get their hands on emerging technologies and test drive their new software over the Web.

At SolidWorks Labs, engineers can get access to the following resources:

–Drawings Now, for uploading a DWG or SolidWorks drawing file to share with colleagues, without having to download any software;

–COSMOSXpress Now, which allows visitors to run basic design analysis tests on any CAD file and receive instant results;

–ZoomIn, a visualization capability that lets users view, render and animate their designs; and

–DWGnavigator, for managing 2D files and performing searches.

SolidWorks is making the so-called sandbox available free of charge to the SolidWorks community, along with users of any CAD package.
