WiSuite Temperature Control Slashes Hotel Energy Costs

WiSuite introduced a wireless environmental automation system that eliminates power use in vacant hotel rooms. The system uses ZigBee wireless technology from Ember Corp. to enable hotels and other facilities to eliminate energy waste and cut energy costs up to 40 percent. The WiSuite system is a wireless mesh of digital thermostats that can be controlled from a Web browser. The thermostats can be turned to a comfort level when guests check in and turned off at check-out.

Westmont Hospitality Group is using WiSuite in several of its Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn properties in the Toronto area and expects to roll out the system in nearly 400 other properties. When complete, Westmont expects to save more than $2.2 million in energy costs per year.
