TexCom Opens Biodiesel Plant
February 26, 2007
The oil industry apparently understands future fuels will be greener. Oil producer TexCom Inc. has broken ground on a major biodiesel production plant near Houston. Since Houston is situated at the center of U.S. fuel production and distribution, it makes sense that mass production of bio fuels would take place in the center of the oil industry. TexCom's biodiesel plant is being built at the company's LLC plant in Seabrook, TX.
The facility will store petroleum diesel and will be equipped to provide fuel distribution with biodiesel/petroleum blends such as B2, B5 and B20, as well as pure biodiesel. By the time the plant is fully online, it will be equipped to produce 35 million gallons of B100 biodiesel annually.
