Fastening gets it together at NDES

Chicago -The National Design Engineering Show (NDES) 2000 offered attendees their pick of new designs on doors, seals, latches, and shapes. From autos to electronics, these new systems are the latest in fastening and assembly:

For the toughest enclosure designs, Rittal showed the TS8 with space for cables, ventilation, climate control, insulation, or EMC protection. It also has a symmetrical design so you can arrange nearly any configuration.

For compression along the entire door edge of electronic enclosures, Southco offered the new M3 Lift Handle Actuator and Multi-Point Latching System. They work together to drive multiple latches from one actuation point, with simple open/close.

Looking for a way to design the best seal on automotive doors? A new line of EPDM clip-on seals from Lauren Manufacturing uses rubber-encapsulated wire for improved performance.

For enclosing components, such as sensors, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks, Altech introduced six new non-metallic enclosures and one constructed of cast aluminum. Designed to withstand applications from light duty to heavy industrial and marine environments, they can also be customized.

If you need to move hoses on construction equipment and other mobile machinery, check out the new A&A Manufacturing Gortrac(R) MRC Series of cable and hose carriers, to hold the best bend radii of your air, hydraulic, and electric lines.

If your design demands custom-coiled tubing, New Age Industries has just expanded its fabrication facilities, to supply jobs that will pull, bend, twist, or stretch tubing. Protect your air supply, fluid transfer, or paint spray with this tubing in your choice of materials.

For lightweight, high-performance couplings, the FL Series from Colder Products replaces ball and sleeve couplings, to provide high flow and low pressure drop.

The Series 86, Style 45 plug is a terminal block with mating style 96 and 99 high temperature headings, recently introduced by Beau Interconnect.

To fit any job, internal and external retaining rings are now made by Rotor Clip in metric sizes from 1 to 889 mm.

For quick and easy installation of actuators for automation equipment, Phoenix Contact introduced new valve connectors for its QUICKON connection system.

Do you need to connect shafts that are separated by an extended gap? The new ROTEX(R)coupling from KTR Corp. has a curved jaw and double-crowned spider design, so it can be disassembled without moving the components.
