Compression limiters

Standard imperial and metric compression limiters protect an assembly's plastic components from the compressive loads generated by the tightening of bolts. Made of roll-formed steel and available in customer-specific lengths, the limiters have diameters of 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8 inch as well as M6, M8, and M10. Series CL250 limiters are compatible with heat-treat-grade bolts; series CL200 are for non-heat-treat-grade bolts.

Urethane foam

This 12-mil version of the company's PORON(R)urethane foam is specifically formulated for gaskets and pads in small, portable electronic devices. It is reported to exhibit improved energy absorption and dimensional stability during processing. The thin cast consists of 0.010 inch (0.25 mm) urethane supported by a 0.002 inch (0.05 mm) polyester film. Since it is cast to the dimension rather than thinned down by grinding, the product is said to offer an attractive finish on both sides.

Polymers

By incorporating spherical, high-molecular-weight polymer beads with different refractive indices into the acrylic matrix, ACRYLITE df acrylic polymers can change the direction of light travel within a manufactured part. The light-diffusing molding and extrusion compounds transmit light while scattering it, withstand outdoor exposure, and can be injection molded or extruded into sheets and thermoformed using conventional plastic processing equipment.

Vacuum lubricants

NyeTorr(R)lubricating oils and gels for high-vacuum, clean-room environments contain fractionated raw materials with a narrow molecular-weight range. The elimination of light-molecular-weight fractions should reduce trace outgassing, which is a source of contamination for semiconductor wafers and nearby instruments. The company measures each lot's vapor pressure and attaches a report to each container of lubricant.
