Sensor has small package size

Temposonics SE sensing element is 1/10 the size of other Temposonics magnetostrictive position sensors, five times more linear, and 100 times more precise at a lower cost. The SE consists of a probe and sensing head with a stainless-steel housing. The probe, which can be as small as 3/16 inch in diameter, may be flexible or rigid and can be sized to almost any length. Applications include commercial, automotive, appliance, and medical equipment.

Analog I/O modules provide cost savings

8500 Series analog I/O, detectors, and power supplies for micro PLCs are designed for one-, two-, or three-channel applications where it would be advantageous to use a PLC, but where a standard, four-plus channel analog I/O module would not be cost-effective. The 8505 and 8506 analog to frequency I/O modules offer standard inputs of 4-20 mA and 0-10V. Each unit operates into the common 24-V, 7-mA PLC discrete counter inputs. Both modules provide linear output to 0.01%, with an accuracy of better than 0.1%.

Transformers meet international requirements

SPW-2100 Series, low-profile, printed circuit-mount power transformers are rated at 6V ac and have outputs ranging from 5 to 230V ac. The Series is interchangeable with the SPW-100 series, having the same pin-out. The transformers typically measure 2.0 x 1.562 x 0.900 inches. Each transformer features shrouded primaries, insulating anchor, and crossover tapes. The units are totally immersed in 100% solids epoxy, enabling them to withstand aqueous and solvent PC-board cleaning systems. The units are VDE 0805, UL 1950, UL 1585 Class II and III, and IEC 950 approved.

Resistors ease insertion

RSV Series, vertical-mount, metal-oxide power resistors feature self-standing, snap-in terminals for easy insertion and a stable profile. The resistors feature a 10- x 3.5-mm footprint, and are available with 5- and 7-V power ratings. Both versions offer a standard resistance range of 1{OMEGA} to 10K{OMEGA} ( plus or minus 5% or 10% tolerance). Applications include power supplies, monitors, televisions, and switching regulators.

Indicators eliminate opticallight pipe modules

PCB-1200 Series in-line, direct-view indicators allow designers to mount LEDs over RJ45 jacks without the use of optical light pipe modules. These wide-viewing, highly visible, conventional (3-mm/T1 round dome) or rectangular (2 x 5 mm) LEDs are configured in units of one or two LEDs per housing. The indicators are suited for modem, telecommunications, and network applications.

Inlet has piggy-back fuse clips

FUSEFIT integrates fuse clips for 5- x 20-mm fuses on the back of an ac inlet, eliminating fuseholders on the pcb. The unit is screwed or snapped to the pcb for process compatibility. It is flush mounted from the rear in a single-piece panel, or sandwiched between split panels. An optional cover provides added safety during equipment service. Other options include slots for varying panel thicknesses, ground terminal position, and fuse clips for one or two fuses.

Honorable Mention

Safety curtain offers compact design

The MicroSafe safety light curtain features transmitter and receiver heads that measure only 25-mm wide and 32-mm deep. The small size allows the curtain to be used in tight locations and on machinery where space is limited. The curtain can also be easily integrated with the framing used on many industrial machines. The transmitter and receiver units are made of aircraft-grade aluminum and then powder-painted with polyester paint. Once the electronics have been installed, they are sealed to IP65 (NEMA 4, 12).
