When Apple set out to design its Vision Pro headset, the company branded the device as an enabler for a new generation of spatial computing. During the unveiling of the product at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference Monday, Apple appeared careful not to brand the product as just a more advanced mixed-reality headset, perhaps trying to shed the image of virtual reality headsets as uncomfortable devices users wear during marathon gaming sessions.
At a price of $3,499 when it is available sometime in 2024, the Vision Pro headset is considerably more expensive than other virtual reality headsets. Apple, to its credit, appears to have put extensive engineering and foresight into designing the next-generation headset.
