Leading sensor technology for machine monitoring

High-performance eddy current sensors vs. conventional inductive displacement and proximity sensors

Eddy current sensors belong to the group of inductive displacement sensors and are ideal for industrial applications. They are ideal for monitoring machinery and equipment because they can also measure in harsh industrial environments with pressure, dirt, or temperature fluctuations. In contrast to conventional inductive sensors, the measuring principle of eddy current sensors enables measurements on non-ferromagnetic materials (e.g. aluminum) as well as on ferromagnetic materials (e.g. steel). This white paper provides a clear introduction of the technology.
