The James Dyson Award is an international design award program that celebrates, encourages, and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It is a chance for young inventors to make a name for themselves, as well as win significant cash prizes and gain exposure that might help them go on to launch their own businesses. The program is managed by the James Dyson Foundation, an engineering education charity funded by Dyson profits. It has supported more than 300 inventions with prize money.

"Young design engineers have the ability to develop tangible technologies that can change lives. The James Dyson Award rewards those who have the persistence and tenacity to develop their ideas," shared James Dyson in a press release.
