MULTI-TUBE CONNECTOR

The 2BC Series of multi-tube connectors is unique because it has integral push-to-connect fittings, and doesn't require any other attachment. This eliminates the cost of purchasing additional fittings and the labor to install them. Four line configurations are offered: 10 and 12 1/8-inch, 8 1/4-inch, and 10 4-mm OD tubes. Reported to be suitable for most types of soft tubing, the connector is rated to 125 psi and is made of aluminum, nickel plated brass, Buna-N, and EPDM. Although, other materials and configurations are available.

Safety switches

SI-LS42 switches can be wired to machine safety control circuitry to keep a mechanical guard locked at up to 1,000N of force until hazardous motion has come to a complete stop. They are recommended for use with 2-channel emergency stop safety modules and gate monitor safety modules. Selectable features include the locking mechanisms, the actuators, and solenoid voltages.

Cable insulation system

Polyclutch(R)

Polyclutch 'EM' precision electro magnetic clutches/brakes are designed to afford dependable precision torque management in critical applications such as high-speed engage and disengage. Special features include a precision-machined steel armature having a controlled 0.004 to 0.007 inch air gap for enhanced repeatability. Cable Sensor(TM)

Cable Sensor, a presence, motion, and limit sensor for hostile environments, is designed to be immune to the effects of extreme temperature, corrosive spray, powders, and abrasive dust, and can be used in liquid submersion applications. The device uses a stainless steel cable to contact a moving object and transfer that motion to the control electronics. System sensitivity is 0.1 inch, dynamic range is greater than 72 inches, and sensed-area capacity is 0.1 inch to 500 ft.

High-voltage insulator

This material, a silicone rubber compound for molding high-voltage components, has been formulated to replace polymer insulators in the T and D industry. Long-term water repellency, excellent dielectric properties, impact resistance, and weatherability are among reported long-term benefits. Their EPDM and silicone based components for T and D applications include dead-end/suspension insulators, line posts, station posts, and end fittings, such as the K-Clamp.

Fingerprint proximity reader

The VeriProx proximity reader utilizes fingerprint verification and proximity card reader technology to prohibit unauthorized access through lost, loaned, or stolen proximity cards. Thermal printer

The new EPL2000 compact thermal printer has a high print speed of 60 mm/sec, with power consumption up to 50% lower than the competition, the manufacturer says. Its easy-loading system eliminates conventional paper threading, and uses a paper reel changeover, that integrates the printing roller automatically. Data acquisition board

The ADDA12-100DMA and AD8-100DMA data acquisition boards have 64-bit PCI DMA transfers, so they can continuously store analog data directly into system memory at sustained speeds of 100 MB/sec, and peak speeds of 140 MB/sec. Wire insulation

Petrothene(R) XL 07633 and XL 04711 are peroxide-curable, flame-retarding insulation compounds for 600V power and control cables. They both use non-dioxin-forming, halogenated flame retardants, are also sunlight-resistant, and meet all UL requirements. Both are available in Dicup and Vulcup grades. The two compounds are similar in their electrical, physical and extrusion properties, but XL 07633 is VW-1 rated, and XL 04711 is HB-1 rated.

ELPELYT(TM) GS 6 is a mirror bright electrolytic nickel process that achieves full brightness at a deposit thickness less than half the usual. The process provides strong leveling, uniformity, and brightness over a wide current density range. And it has good chromium receptivity.

Reverse engineering software

HALODECK DESIGN is integrated 3D reverse engineering software for Autodesk 2000 and Mechanical Desktop 4.0 users. Hardware

The STPCC0375BTC3, or STPC Consumer-S, supports synchronous DRAMs and provides all of the functions required to build x86-based Information and Internet appliances in a single chip. At its heart is a 64-bit 100 MHz processor block containing a 64-bit DRAM controller, a high speed PCI local bus controller, and a 32-bit fifth generation x86 processor that is fully PC-compatible. The new Tecplot Version 8.0 enables engineers to do web-based visual analysis. Miniature solenoid valves

These 10 and 16 mm miniature solenoid valve systems are designed for analytical, medical and biotechnical applications. Linear slide

Dolphin Guides(TM) linear slides use FrelonGOLD(R) bearing material instead of hardened steel, so the slides are based on a one-piece, ceramic-coated aluminum extrusion with a hard (RC70), corrosion-resistant running surface. Right-angle gearhead

Three new VLT(R) adjustable-frequency drives include the VLT Micro, VLT 2800, and VLT 5000. Pipe insulation

"Hygro-Wick" is a fiberglass insulation that prevents condensation on piping systems used below ambient temperature. Insulation failure is inevitable for most chilled water piping, because of moisture damage. But Hygro-Wick uses a super-absorbent hydrophillic wicking cloth at its core, to move moisture to the outside of the system, where it evaporates.

Thread sealant

ST-3(R) thread sealant is applied in a 360 degrees . pattern to the inside of a fastener, such as the internal threads and the bearing face of large diameter nuts used in automotive differentials. It can reduce clamp force scatter, and provide a seal against fluid leakage. It will work with straight or tapered threads, is dry to the touch, and seals instantly.

Dipping resin

CB-1145 is a one-part, black, polybutadiene dipping resin, designed for use on electronic modules, relays, transformers, motor and generator end turns and coils. It does not require a reactor to cure, is it silicone-free, and provides cushioning and protection for stress-sensitive elements. It is also chemical and abrasion resistant, for automotive applications.

Adhesive

Permbond(R) 4C10 cyanoacrylate is designed for high speed production of medical devices, including bonding, sealing and fixturing parts and substrates. Within 5 to 20 sec., the single-component adhesive polymerizes when pressed into a thin film between substrates including brass, steel, plaster, stone, aluminum, ABS, phenolic, polyesters, SBR, PVC and many other plastics. At 77F, the colorless, transparent liquid has a viscosity of 40 centipoise.

Shielding protection

This new C12 coating is a nickel-copper fabric that eliminates the standard flaking and plating of other fabrics. It consists of a layer of nickel on top of a layer of copper, both of which cover a nylon woven fabric. The combination provides a durable gasket with galvanic compatibility and a range of materials including yellow and clear chromate, aluminum, steel and zinc. It has shielding effectiveness of >105 dB over the frequency range of 20 to 2,000 MHz.

Adhesive

Thermeez(TM) 7030 high-expansion adhesive will bond and protect steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to 1,800F. After mixing, it cures at room temperature to provide strong resistance to most chemicals, solvents, corrosives, electricity, and fire. It is designed for applications demanding high-temperature service, pressure tight and fireproof seals, wear resistant ceramic coatings, and high-expansion adhesives.

Alloy

Inconel Alloy 686 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy designed for corrosion resistance in severe environments. The alloy is considered an upgrade from C-276. It is now stocked in a full range of parts including plate, sheet, bar, pipe, fittings, flanges, and welding materials.

Reinforced RIM improvements

Bayflex 190, a 20% mineral filled polyurea for reaction injection molding, is tailored to exterior automotive applications-including body panels, truck fenders and tail gates. Formulated to withstand the high cure temperatures of on-line painting, Bayflex 190 handles oven temperatures of 390F for one hour, reportedly with no loss of mechanical properties.

Flat wafers

These ultraflat sapphire wafers are suited for use as base plates for mounting substrates in semiconductor manufacturing devices. They feature flatness to 0.5 fringes of HeNe and parallelism from 20 to 1 sec with 61.2 microns piece-to-piece uniformity. Impervious to caustic etching agents, they are available in 50 to 82 mm diameter sizes, with thicknesses from 0.5 to 3 mm.

Flame-retardant nylon

Latamid G/50-VOKB, a 50% glass-filled nylon 66, adds some extra stiffness to a line of non-halogenated, flame retardant nylons. The new grade offers yield strength of 30,450 kpsi, a flexural modulus of 2,030,000 psi at 73F, and 1.5% elongation at break. Tracking resistance, or CTI, is 550V, while its coefficient of linear thermal expansion is 0.083 2 10-4/F.

Energy-absorbing elastomers

VersaDamp 2000 thermoplastic elastomers serve as anti-shock and anti-vibration mounts for devices with limited isolator sway space-including pagers, mobile phones, laptop computers, and handheld computing devices. Available in a variety of custom formulations and suitable for injection molding, VersaDamp materials have peak loss factors from 0.75 to 0.15.

Silicone coating

A new silicone coating will improve the performance of porcelain and glass high-voltage insulators, arresters, and other components, particularly where surface contamination causes arcing problems. Coated devices have better hydrophobicity and reduced leakage currents, and the silicone rubber material has the ability to recovery its water repellency after surface electrical activity.

Wire-mesh gaskets

Metal-based EMI shielding gaskets are now available in a wider range of styles, including knitted wire mesh, wire mesh over an elastomer core, oriented wires in elastomers, and elastomers impregnated with metal screen. These adaptable perforated foam gaskets are die cut for outdoor electrical fixture applications. Production capacity is over 100,000 parts per day with inexpensive steel rule die tooling. Torque wrench

The Torque Activated AM Signal Wrench (TAAMS) is a wireless fastener system that operates on AM frequency, with multiple channel and tool tracking capability in a single unit. It has a small, battery-powered transmitter in its handle, so when a pre-set torque is reached, the tool sends an AM signal to a receiver unit that records the fastener as fastened. Its design avoids both restrictive cables and unreliable FM signals.

Self-locking nuts

FLEXLOC(R) non-slotted, self-locking nuts are an alternative to traditional split beam nuts, and use elliptical thread displacement to meet the locking torque requirements of MIL-DTL-25027 for 15 cycles of reusability. Available in steel and corrosion-resistant austentic steel, the plain-finish and Cadmium-finish nuts are useable in temperatures up to 450F. Silver-plated nuts are useable up to 800F. All are available in sizes from 0.112- to 1.250-inch diameters.

Self-clinching studs

These self-clinching studs are made from 400-series heat-treated stainless steel, for high strength performance. They may be used in stainless steel panels with a hardness of RB92 or less, and with a minimum sheet thickness of 0.095 inches. They are available in inch and metric sizes, and are installed using a standard shop press with special anvil.

Threaded shaft collars

These clamp-type threaded shaft collars are supplied with "wrench flats" to facilitate tightening, and replace arbor- and bearing nuts. They can be tightened in place with an adjustable or open-end wrench, and then locked securely using the clamping screw. They are designed to resist loosening under reversing loads, so they are ideal for use with drive components. Available in sizes from 1/4 to 6-inch ID, in both one- and two-piece styles, made from steel or stainless steel.

Snap latch

The Snap Latch allows users to open and close doors and covers with just a fingertip. To close, light pressure causes the latch to snap behind the frame. And to open, the latch is released with a simple sliding motion. For installation, it is clipped into a 38 x 25 mm cutout, with slightly bent edges for stability. It measures 13 mm deep and 28 mm wide, and can be used on doors that are 0.8 mm to 2.3 mm thick.

Roller clamp

The Super Roller Clamp provides display space at the top of any chalk or marker board. Its interlocking rollers automatically adjust to hold paper, foam board, vinyl, acrylic, and other materials up to 1/8-inch thick. Cylinder sling

The BoaGrip(TM) gas cylinder sling is designed to safely grip, carry and suspend compressed gas cylinders, and to eliminate dangerous rolling, sliding and lifting by workers. It is a nylon sling with a sewn eye at one end and an oblong steel ring at the other. The sewn eye fits through the ring to form a lasso, and the sling's inner surface is lined with polymer grippers. Locking key slot

The Locking Key Slot (LKS) attaches a variety of standoffs and fasteners to circuit boards and panels. It is designed to be used in place of a pressed-in metal screw insert, without requiring a press and anvil. Sweep connectors

These nylon Sweep Connectors resist penetration of water, oil, grease, gasoline, acidic solutions and solvents. Component inspecting machine

The MP400 mid-volume component handling and inspection system works for both tray-to-tape and tray-to-tray applications. Processed fasteners

NYTEMP(R) processed fasteners provide self-locking abilities at temperature up to 450F. Torque wrench
