EtherCAT Box with Analog Inputs and Outputs

Beckhoff Automation has extended its range of IP 67 I/O modules with the newEP4374 EtherCAT Box. This flexible, moisture and dust-resistant I/O devicecombines two analog inputs and two analog outputs into one device.

The EP4374 I/O box is a finelyscalable EtherCAT solution that allows machine builders to plan ahead based ondemand. The input and output channels can be parameterized independent of eachother for the standard signals 0...10 V, A plus or minus 10V, 0...20 mA and 4...20 mA. Withthe combination of parameterizable inputs and outputs in a single ruggedhousing, EP4374 users benefit from increased flexibility and can utilize theexisting signals in an optimized manner. This new EtherCAT Box features twoinput channels and two output channels. Each channel is configurable individuallyfor current or voltage measurement or output. The resolution for the currentand voltage signals is 16 bit (signed). The EP4374-0002 module has a directEtherCAT connection, so that the high performance of 100 Mbit/s IndustrialEthernet is retained down to each IP 67 box. The compact dimensions of theEtherCAT Box of only 126 x 30 x 26.5mm make it useful for applications inconfined spaces.
