TeknorApex Company's Medalist MD-447 is atransparent medical elastomer gel available in free-flowing pellets for comfortin skin-contact and other sensitive applications requiring molded-in seal areasor cushions.
MedalistMD-447 is ultra-soft and could not be measured accurately on the Shore Ahardness scale used for other elastomers, the softest of which has a Shore Arating of 5. Subjected to the Shore OO test for ultra-soft materials, the newcompound has a rating of 25. Based on a standard hydrogenated styrenic blockcopolymer, Medalist MD-447 is free of latex, phthalates or animal-derivedcomponents, and complies with FDA, CaliforniaProposition 65, CONEG and REACHrequirements for medical applications.
