Understanding Sensor Fusion and Tracking, Part 6
The sixth part of this series on sensor-level fusion looks at fusing information from multiple sensor tracks.
This video looks at track-level fusion, an architecture that provides advantages where access to data is an issue, where bandwidth is problem. where computing capabilities are limited, and where specialization for particular types of sensor data is considered desirable.
The downsides to track-level fusion are reduced accuracy and issues with correlated noise. Design engineers should weigh the positives and negatives before deciding what approach to use.
