Design News Presents: The Best of Gadget Freak, Vol. 2

Design News Presents: The Best of Gadget Freak, Vol. 2

For more than 10 years, Gadget Freak, in partnership with Allied Electronics, has been a fan favorite as it highlights the imaginative projects our readers have built in their home labs. We have collected some of the most recently talked about gadgets and are showcasing them in an interactive, Best of Gadget Freak -- Volume 2 Technology Roundup.

This roundup opens with our latest Gadget Freak of the Year winning project, "A Gadget's Call to Assistance." Created by Andrew Morris, for his disabled neighbor, this gadget detects a stroke victim's groan and converts the sound into a signal to alert caregivers when help is needed. Other projects that are highlighted include a gloved hand to control a remote-control airplane, a 3D-printed analog camera, and a rocket that can record its own flight.

Check out the Best of Gadget Freak -- Volume 2 Technology Roundup here to see some of the best gadgets that your peers have created.

When you are finished, be sure to check out Best of Gadget Freak: Vol. 1.

Do you have a Gadget Freak project you would like the world to see? Send a brief description of your gadget and a photo to Assistant Managing Editor Lauren Muskett.
