Boston Scientific’s plant in Cork, Ireland, worked with Multivac Group to completely automate the packaging of endoscope valve sets, as shown in this video. The operation includes loading the valves into pre-formed packs, sealing the packs with an upper web, inspecting, labeling, cutting packs into individual sets, box erecting, placing packs in an outer box, and labeling/inspecting the finished secondary packaging. A booklet dispenser inserts Directions for Use into the outer boxes, which are filled with 50 packs each.
