OLED, AR/VR Are Hot Areas As Display Week Show Opens

OLED technology continues to find its way into displays for smartphones and flat-panel TVs.
Advances in visual quality and new applications are on display at this week’s Display Week conference.

The ever-growing importance of display-centric technologies in products such as smartphones and TVs has prompted the electronics industry to spend upwards of hundreds of million dollars developing ever-larger and clearer displays. Many current and future display technologies will take center stage at the Society for Information Display’s Display Week symposium and tradeshow in San Jose, California. Here is a sampling of some underlying display market trends that are defining the products on display.
