Foreground and Background Suppression Adjustable-Field Sensors

Banner Engineering's QS30AFF400 foreground suppressionsensorand the QS30AF600 background suppressionsensoruse linear imager technology to provide a sensing solution for myriadindustrial applications, including part-in-place detection, feeder bowl controland package detection on conveyors.

TheQS30AFF400 sensor offers foreground suppression for detection of target objectsvarying in color or shape when a fixed background is present. Conversely, theQS30AF600 sensor provides reliable detection of objects when the backgroundcondition is neither controlled nor fixed, and it ignores objects locatedbeyond the sensing field cutoff. The sensing range for all models can beadjusted with a screwdriver potentiometer or via the remote teach wire input. Thesensors' visible red LED sensing beam is for sensor alignment.

TheQS30AF/AFF models are available in a waterproof epoxy encapsulated IP67-ratedhousing, making them suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.Providing a variety of mounting options, including a 30 mm threaded barrel orside mount, the sensors deliver increased flexibility to meet diverseapplications. Three connection options-2, 9 m quick-disconnect and 150 mmpigtail quick-disconnect-are also available.

TheQS40AFF400 model offers an adjustable cutoff range of 50-400 mm, with a maximumsensing range of 400 mm for all sensor colors.

TheQS30AF600 model delivers an adjustable cutoff range of 50-600 mm, with amaximum sensing range of 400 mm for the 6 percent black card sensor and 600 mm forthe 90 percent white card sensor. The 6 percent black card sensor also offers aminimum sensing range-also known as the dead zone-of 30 mm.
