American Sensor Technologies' AST4000 Pressure Sensor

AmericanSensor Technologies Inc. (AST) has released the AST4000pressure sensor with special configurations for the hydraulic industry.Through the use of a three-digit option code, the AST4000 series can bemodified to withstand a variety of mechanical, electrical and environmentalchallenges in hydraulic pressure measurement applications.

TheAST4000 uses AST's proprietary Krystal Bond(TM) Technology, where the pressureport is constructed from a single piece of stainless steel. Special packages ofthe AST4000 are available to withstand pressure transients common to hydraulicapplications. Standard proof pressure capability is two times the ratedpressure, but the AST4000 can be specified with a four times proof pressure.

TheAST4000 pressure sensor features an all-stainless-steel housing welded to thesensing element to protect against environmental conditions. Whether installedoutdoors or on equipment that experiences high-pressure wash down conditions,the electronics of the pressure sensor are protected from water, dust ormoisture penetration with cable or connector configurations.

Avariety of output signals are available on the AST4000 series. For longtransmissions, the sensor can be packaged with a 4-20mA output signal. Voltageoutput signals are available for applications requiring low currentconsumption. The 10mV/V output signal is also commonly used in hydraulicapplications requiring fast response time.
