USB-Powered 20MHz Scopes

SaeligCompany Inc.'s PS4224-IEPE is a 20MHz12-bit 2-channel PC oscilloscope adapter with an integrated IEPE interface, making it compatible with any industrial standard IEPE accelerometer or microphone.Designed for customers who require measurements fromhigh-sensitivity accelerometers, PS4224-IEPE's 12-bit resolution can capture smallincremental changes. The IEPE sensors are powered via the integrated constantcurrent sources on the BNC input connector, but PS4224-IEPE can also be used asa standard PC-hosted 2-channel digital storage oscilloscope for other non-IEPEapplications without modification. With a fast 80 MSa/s real-time sampling rateand input ranges from A plus or minus 50 mV to A plus or minus 100V full-scale, PS4224-IEPE can handle smallsignals from sensors as well as higher voltages from power supply circuits andmotor drives. The deep 32MSa memory can capture over 400 msec of data at themaximum sampling rate without any performance reduction. Powered solely from astandard USB 2.0 port, no power adapter or batteries are required, making PS4224-IEPEuseful for field work with a laptop PC. An optional single-axis IEPEaccelerometer with a measuring range of A plus or minus 490 m/s2 (A plus or minus 50 g) is also available(TA095). Intended for use withindustry-standard accelerometers for monitoring vibrations and acousticwaveforms in the field, PS4224-IEPE makes a useful choice for mechanicalanalysis without expensive add-on modules. In addition, there are several othersensor types which use this interface, such as microphones, impulse hammers, acoustic and force and pressure sensors.

PicoScopesoftware for Windows PCs is included free, which harnesses the PC's processingpower, storage, graphics and networking capabilities. Users can downloadsoftware updates, feature extensions and improvements free of charge.
