PowerBurst Ultracapacitors

The Tecate Group's TPLE series of PowerBurst ultracapacitors is 100 percent RoHScompliant, and offers extended operating temperature up to 85C. Capacitancevalues range from 5 to 100 F. These electrochemical double-layercapacitors (EDLCs) offer extremely low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) forhigh power and low loss during operation. The Tecate Group says thelightweight, small form factor parts are maintenance-free, have an extended 85Cwide operating temperature range, and offer a high charge/discharge cycle lifealong with high useable capacity. Moreover, these low leakage currentultracapacitors charge quickly and safely, and deliver frequent energy pulseswithout harmful effects or reduced life.

Used for pulse and hold-up power in hand-held and portable devicesusing microprocessors, the TPLE Series of general-purpose ultracapacitorsmay be confidently specified for energy storage in the broadest range of space-constrainedapplications. They are useful for use in storage, battery packs, wirelesscommunications, mobile computing, and industrial applications. Among theparts' most common employment are in RAID storage, smart grid, portable dataterminals, personal digital assistants, pagers, peak power shaving and remotemonitoring equipment. Tecate's PowerBurst ultracapacitors moreover can be usedin conjunction with batteries, or other power sources, when batteries alone donot meet performance objectives. Cells are also utilized to hold or bridgepower when the primary power source fails, or when a battery is swappedout. The operating temperature range is from -40 to +85C.

The TPLE Series, rated at 2.3V, and in sizes of 10 (D) X 20 (L) to 18 (D)X 45 mm (L). PowerBurst ultracapacitors feature a capacitance toleranceof -0 to +40 percent.
