Ogura's New Thinner Spring Applied Brake Series - RNB

The smallspring applied brake series from Ogura(models RNB 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8) have been redesigned and now have a thinnerprofile. The brakes overall reduction in thickness is around 10percent. (RNB models 1.6, 3 and 5 are 30 percent thinner).

Advances infriction material have allowed the brakes to maintain their same torque ratingwhile eliminating the need for higher force springs and a correspondentlyhigher wattage coil. The new thinner spring applied holding brakes areideal for the servo motor and robotics industries where size and weight isalways a concern. Since less steel is used in the coil shell and lesscopper in the windings, cost of the brakes are also lower than the current RNBseries. On some of the models, the outside diameter has been slightly reducedbut all of the models have the same through-hole mounting dimensions as thecurrent RNB brakes, so brake models will be interchangeable.
