Servo Valve Development Platform

Development of application-specific or custom valves can be time consuming and filled with technical challenges. The PD-9000 architecture offers pre-defined elements, including subsystems and full systems, aimed at simplifying the process. Key platform elements include circuit board formats, software and circuitry objects, electronics formats (bus systems and interconnects), motors and sensors, metering elements and valve body formats.

Similar to object-oriented programming, the platform offers functional blocks of software code and analog circuitry including both circuit design and physical layout. Blocks have defined inputs and outputs to permit fast development of control and drive systems, as well as new functions.

The PD-9000 offers several baseline proportional and servo linear force motors, plus optional onboard sensors. The motor designs permit various implementations including direct-acting connectivity to different metering elements. Valve bodies do not have a single specific external design because form factor is often application-specific, but core module and valve enclosure designs offer porting and manifold options.

Instead of designing around a standard valve or developing a fully customized solution, the goal of the PD-9000 is to bridge the gap. Customers make progress on valve-dependent parts of their product/equipment design concurrent with the best valve design for their application.
