Wall-Mounted Telephone Has Invisible Display

I recently received a new, wall-mounted, corded telephone, made by a well-known communications company. I chose the phone mainly for its large, clear, LCD display, and because it had a cordless remote.

The new phone was a replacement for a similar one that had failed under warranty. However, my old phone model was no longer available, so the company said they would replace it with a newer model.

Once I got it all hooked up and on the wall, I realized that the only way to see and read the characters on the display was to crouch down and look up at it. In vain I searched in the user manual and online to see if there was a hidden contrast control that would make the LCD display visible.

I called customer support and was eventually told, "no, that feature was not designed in to the phone." As it turns out, they were unable to supply me with any other model that had the feature to be adjusted for wall viewing. Made by monkeys for sure.
