StyleBox Modular Enclosure Offers Recessed EMC Mounting

Elma Electronic Inc.'s StyleBox now offersrecessed front-card mounting which helps EMC by allowing a solid or perforatedpanel to fully enclose any plug-in boards. The extra space in the front of thebox also allows for protecting electrical or optical connectors. Elma alsolengthened the rear feet of the enclosure so that there would be more room forany components that may protrude from the back of the unit. The rubberfeet prevent the enclosure from scratching desktops and they provide morestability.

TheType 15 enclosure has 51 different sizes and a flexible design allowing it toconvert to a portable tower. The standard sizes of the new Type 15 enclosurerange from 2U to 7U high and widths of 42 HP, 63 HP, and 84 HP. The StyleBoxsaves manufacturing and assembly time. The modular design has push-onextrusions which allow easy installation and mounting of PCBs, panels, hardware, etc. The versatile enclosure allows Eurocard-based mounting forarchitectures such as VME, VME64x or CompactPCI. Or, the enclosure can be usedas an instrument case where typically one PCB is mounted to the case floor orslides within the extrusion rails.
