QuickMux 16x2 Multiplexer

Bitwise Systems' Model QMUX16X2 Multiplexeris designed expressly to permit test and measuring equipment to connectto many signals. QMUX can measure two selected signals at the same time. Thismultiplexer has 16 inputs and 2 outputs and can be powered and controlled bythe user's PC. The multiplexer uses low-power reed relays and a USB controllerin a DIN rail mount enclosure. It is suited to single or differential signalsless than 10 MHz.

The QuickMux uses mechanical reedrelays so it can be used as a de-multiplexer as well as a multiplexer. The de-multiplexingcapabilities of the QMUX16X2 permits two input channels and connect them to anyof the sixteen output channels on a standard 40-pin IDC header. It iscontrolled through an easy-to-use software API over an industry-standard USB2.0 full-speed port. The QuickMux can multiplex and de-multiplex signals foundin R&D, manufacturing, test engineering and similar situations.

The QuickMux Multiplexer design includes a pass-through relay to daisychain multiple units without sacrificing an input channel; cables with built-indaisy chain connectors are also available.

The QuickMux allows theselection of two output channels from sixteen input channels over a USB 2.0full-speed connection to measure two signals at the same instant in time andcollect data used to calculate voltages, currents and resistances.

The QuickMux is poweredand controlled by a single, full-speed USB 2.0 compliant port.
In addition tocontrolling the use of a QuickMux, the software API and firmware provide accessto:

  • 2 KB of user available EEPROM

  • The ability to set power-on default connections

  • Individual device names for easier setup

  • The ability to field-upgrade the firmware tohave access to the latest capabilities of QuickMux.
