PoL Converters in iLGA Formats

Murata Power Solutions has added the OKL-T/1-W12 to its Okami series of point of load (PoL) DC-DC converters for embedded applications. The OKL-T/1-W12 is designed in an iLGA (inspectable land grid array) format, an innovative package design that allows easy access for testing and inspection of the solder joints.

The OKL-T/1-W12 provides maximum 1A output current with a nominal 12V in input voltage, while the input voltage range, 2.9 to 14V dc, is wider than the previously released 3 and 6A models. Ideal for applications requiring an ultra wide input range and low output current, the 1A OKL model also has the same pad layout as the other models in this family, providing flexibility when selecting a model. A cost efficient way to power on-board ICs, the OKI-T/1 will be used in applications such as servers and wireless equipment, LED signage and power amplifiers and other applications across the datacom and industrial markets.

The OKL-T/1-W12 measures 12.4 x 12.4 x 4.57 mm max. Based on fixed-frequency synchronous buck converter switching topology, the high power conversion efficiency PoL module features programmable output voltage from 0.9 to 5.5V dc and On/Off control. These converters also include under voltage lock out (UVLO), output short circuit protection, and over-current protections. Like the other models in the OKL range, its 800kHz switching frequency allows faster transient response than 300kHz PoLs, and it can drive up to 200AmuF ceramic capacitive loads. These units are designed to meet all standard UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety certifications (2nd Edition) and RoHS-6 hazardous substance compliance.
