Eurekafest 2010

On Saturday June 19, 2010 200 high school students from across the country will gather in the Museum of Science Boston to compete in the Eurekafest wind turbine challenge, where teams will attempt to build wind turbines powerful enough to lift garbage cans forty feet into the air.

Eurekafest is a three day “celebration designed to empower a legacy of inventors through activities that inspire youth, honor role models, and encourage creativity and problem solving” put on by the Lemelson-MIT Program.

Teams will present their invention prototypes at the InvenTeams Showcase Friday night at MIT’s Stata Center and awards will be given to the teams with the best inventions, innovations, and sustainability.

Saturday’s events at the Museum of Science close Eurekafest and are open to the public.
