Digi-Key Corp. Announces Stock on Series 690 USB 3.0 Connectors from EDAC

Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corp. announced it has stock on Series690 USB 3.0 Types A and B Right Angle Receptacles from EDAC.

The Series 690 USB connectors from EDAC, Inc. are fully compliant with the USB 2.0 and3.0 specifications, providing a significant leap forward in transfer speeds (5Gbps signaling rate) and a 10x performance increase over hi-speed USBcapabilities while maintaining backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 devices. TheUSB 3.0 specification will accommodate next generation peripherals that requiremore power and improved interaction between devices and the host computer byproviding more power when needed and less power when not needed.

Features of the Series 690 USBconnectors include metal shielding for EMI, RFI, and ESD protection; superspeed interface up to 5Gbps data rate; backward compatibility with USB 2.0;230C for 30 seconds, 260C for 10 seconds for SMT process; friction lockgrounding fingers; UL 94V-0 rated; high temperature material; and through-holestandard type.
