Cognex Corp.'s next-generation DataMan^(R) handheld industrialID scanner is designed for the factory floor and offers the industry's mostadvanced code-reading technology using patented IDMax^(R) technology for reading1D and 2D codes regardless of size, quality, printing method or surface. TheDataMan 8000 Series also offers two new innovations for an industrial handheldcode reader: modular communications (including Ethernet) and liquidlens variable focus technology.

The DataMan 8000 Series features Cognex superior codereading capabilities with two powerful algorithms, 1DMax(TM)and 2DMax(TM).

It is the first industrial handheld reader to offer integratedliquid lens technology. The adjustable focus of the liquid lens gives themaximum depth of field flexibility for an image-based handheld reader. This newtechnology, already integrated into Cognexfixed-mount readers, allows a user to read small 2-D direct partmarks as well as long linear bar codes with a single reader.
