There
are currently three sizes of Ogura's series of hydraulic caliper disc
brake available: model HOB-360CP, HOB-1200CP and HOB-2800CP. They have a maximum
clamping force of 810, 2,700 and 6,300 lb, respectively. Besides modifying
pressure to change torque in an application, multiple brake modules can be used
as well as multiple brake discs.
The
brakes are primarily designed for heavy duty work in machining centers and
machine tools. Besides machine tool applications, these brakes can also be used
in industrial applications where high torque is required.
