Piston accumulators go metric!

Parker Hannifin's Hydraulic Accumulator Div. has announced that its standard piston accumulators, piston-type gas bottles, and large port piston accumulators are now available in metric sizing. Operating at pressures up to 207 bar, the new line includes seven different bore sizes (51 to 178 mm)--enough to fit most envelopes! Nominal sizes range from 0.08 to 193l, with many capacities available in different bore sizes. The new metric units are particularly effective in applications with high/low temperature extremes and offer high flow rates and compression ratios. For added flexibility, piston accumulators can be mounted in any angle or position.

Stumpy block cylinders scrimp on space

The short, compact body design of these new block cylinders saves space and simplifies mounting, particularly in applications where space is at a premium, such as press fitting, stamping, clamping, and robotics. The cylinders have an extruded aluminum body with 10 nominal bore sizes ranging from 0.5 inch to 4 inches. The cylinders are available as single-acting, double-acting, and double-acting/non-rotating types. Tandem and dual cylinder types for multiple force and stroke applications are also available. Various mounting choices include threaded through-holes on body or foot, flange, and pivot styles. Users can choose among four different sensor switches, including Hall-effect or reed types and LEDs. Although compact, the unique body design permits the switches to be mounted on three sides. Options include: Viton seals, male rod thread, or non-rod thread. Humphrey Products Co. Product Code 4358

Modular hydraulic manifold systems

Moog-Hydrolux is a newly formed organization whose charter is to supply high quality integrated hydraulic manifolds incorporating the valve technology of both Moog Inc. and Hydrolux Hydraulic Systems. The company's newest offering is a complete line of modular manifold systems for the control of hydraulic press systems ranging in size from 100 to 1,500 tons. These powerful manifold systems have been developed to deliver linear pressing speeds in excess of 1,000 inch/sec. The line is equipped with a host of standard features, including: proportional valves with integral limit switch; pressure safety relief for press cylinder; bypass valve; leak-free safety gate valve; safety pressure relief valve; and proportional valves with integral limit switch. Optional features include: proportional pump pressure limiting; directional control valves with limit switch; decompression with active cartridge; and load sense for variable displacement pump.

Controllers for hydraulic proportional valves

This new line of three electronic controllers (one panel-mount, two coil-mount) achieves optimal valve performance in a wide range of applications. All units are for operation with an external potentiometer or other voltage source in 9-28V dc systems. For greater flexibility, the panel-mount unit can be operated with a 0-20 mA input, while the robust coil-mount units are rated for IP65 weather resistance. Features include: independent ramp-up and ramp-down setpoints; non-following I-min and I-max adjustments; and LED indicators for power-on, PWM output, and fault detection. Built-in current taps make it easy to monitor electrical status with a portable meter.

Ultra-small valve piston pumps are flexible

The Gotec EMX08 line of two- and three-valve piston pumps is extremely compact--measuring a mere 2.9 @ 0.9 inch (76 @ 23 mm). The pumps feature a unique design that automatically limits pressure, eliminating potential overloading and the need for shaft seals. The two- and three-valve piston pumps are self-priming to 5 or 10 ft, provide flow rates up to 2.5 gal/inch, and pressures to 10 psi. The pumps are extremely flexible and are designed for many types of liquid handling applications, including solvents, saline solutions, and other corrosive liquids. Specific markets for the ultra-small piston pumps include analytical instrumentation, medical equipment, food vending machines, and photo processing equipment.

Steel nurse linear actuator

This unique linear actuator was designed exclusively for patient handling applications such as lifting devices, stretchers, and multipurpose tables. The completely self-contained unit consists of a pump, reservoir, cylinder, and valve, with no external hoses or fittings. This design makes for an incredibly easy installation with minimal maintenance requirements. In addition, the robust actuator system has high structural rigidity. Features of the compact system include: quiet and smooth operation, one-hand operation, and dependable load holding capability--a prerequisite for any kind of patient handling application. The unit's stroke length ranges from 10 to 14 inch (250 to 350 mm) with a maximum lift capacity of 1,350 lb (6N). The pump plunger diameter is 0.55 inch (14 mm); main plunger diameter is 0.87 inch (22 mm); and the main plunger end is 0.48 inch (12.2 mm). Pump stroke is 35 deg.
