When Dick Neubert discovered one winter that his fireplace's heatilators were losing heat when they were not being used, he created a gadget designed to rectify the situation.
His Heatilator Helper is a series of automated fans and flaps that respond to sensors that monitor the temperature difference between the top and bottom air registers. The gadget controls two fans. The system stops the heat loss when the fireplace is not in use.
Neubert insists that, if your fireplace has heatilators, you need this gadget.
