5 Trends to Watch at Mobile World Congress

CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) may get all the mainstream press attention, but as many engineers know, a notable amount of important industry action also takes place each spring at MWC, the Mobile World Congress conference. MWC's importance becomes increasingly evident as the smartphone increasingly becomes the nexus (if not the entirety) of a typical consumer's communications, computing, entertainment, photography, and other content consumption and generation activities.

As EDN's Brian Dipert writes these words from his home base in Colorado, MWC is just less than a week away, and half a world away, in beautiful and vibrant Barcelona, Spain. He, like the rest of us, is wondering, what new technologies and products will be unveiled there, and what underlying trends are driving the announcements?

Tell us what you think in the comments section below, then go to www.EDN.com to see Brian's predictions.
