March 14 is Pi Day, which is the celebration of the mathematical sign Pi, selected because the numerical date of 3.14 represents the first three digits of Pi. The date has obvious importance to engineers and scientists because the unit of measurement has obvious significance for mathematical calculations and in understanding many phenomena in the physical world.
it is safe to say the average person is either unaware of or attaches no meaning to Pi Day. It is not a day off or national holiday. However, the food business is increasingly taking a vested interest in Pi Day, offering discounts on (of course) pies and some other food items. While their interest is undoubtedly propping up their bottom line on an otherwise uneventful day in March, any promotion to get people even the least bit curious on the meaning of Pi Day cannot hurt.

Most people love pizza, and a number of pizza chains are celebrating Pi Day with these pizza deals. Here’s what Good Housekeeping compiled:
BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse: Half off large pizzas when placing a delivery or takeout order on BJ's website or mobile app.
Blaze Pizza: By signing up for Blaze Pizza rewards on the Blaze Pizza app, one can get any 11-inch pizza for just $3.14. The offer will be unlocked on March 14 to all members and is valid through March 31.
Grimaldi's Pizzeria: Sign up for Grimaldi's rewards program to earn double rewards points on orders placed online or in the app on March 14. Signing up for the rewards program will also get one a free appetizer or salad.
Marco's Pizza: 30% off on menu-price pizzas with code "GREAT30."
Papa John's: Buy one regular-priced large pizza, and get a second large one-topping pizza for $3.14.
Papa Murphy's: On March 14, use the code "PIDAY" to get 3.14% off online orders.
Round Table Pizza: Sign up for the Round Table Pizza Royal Rewards App to get six free Twists to enjoy alongside your pizza pie.
Sbarro: Join the Slice Society rewards program to receive a free NY XL slice with the purchase of a beverage.

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen: Cheddars' signature menu item, their homemade chicken pot pie, will be $10.29 on March 14 for dine-in or to-go orders.
Goldbelly: No special Pi Daypromotion, but the online marketplace offers a number of regional pies, from Florida Key Lime pies to Texas trash pies. The site does offer $15 off on a first order.
