While OLED (Organic-light-emitting-diode) displays have in recent years stolen much of the attention from LED (Light-emitting-diode) displays, the latter technology is not going away anytime soon.

In this Lesics video, the physics of light emissions in an LED display is explained in detail. With the help of colorful animations, it explains in clear detail the polarization and visualization of light. It also gets into the basic construction of an LED TV display, and explains some of the technology’s current drawbacks.

The video also talks about newer developments in LED technology, such as micro-LEDs.
