ACT Expo Showcases Advancing Commercial Truck EV Technology
The commercial truck industry is rapidly embracing the benefits of electric drivetrains and more players are participating in the market.
While passenger vehicles may enjoy the spotlight of attention as the transportation industry electrifies, commercial vehicles also play an important role in reducing CO2.
Additionally, because commercial vehicles are typically diesel-powered, a switch to electric drive provides the opportunity to eliminate the noise, particulate emissions, and oxides of nitrogen produced by these vehicles, issues that are especially relevant when they are used in urban areas.
This is why the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim was so busy this year, with truck makers and component suppliers proudly displaying their offerings aimed at nudging commercial transportation away from diesel and toward battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell electric drivetrains.
The show marked the debut of new electric commercial highway tractors and medium-duty commercial trucks as well as electrified axles and transmissions from component suppliers. There was also news on commercial truck EV dealers and charging networks.
