As 3DEXPERIENCE World 2023 kicked off this week, Dassault Systemes announced it will include cloud connectivity with each SOLIDWORKS seat beginning in July 2023. “Every new seat of Solidworks will include cloud services. We see the cloud as the fundamental connector for PLM and PDM,” said Gian Paolo Bassi, CEO of the Dassault Systemes company, SOLIDWORKS, at the opening session of the event. “You can take anything that you have open and save it to the platform. When you save it, it goes up to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. It’s all out of the box – no overhead. It’s simple and turnkey.”

3DEXPERIENCE is a live event for the first time since 2020. This year’s conference brings together thousands of designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and makers to Nashville, Tennessee for educational sessions and insights into the future of SOLIDWORKS design tools. 3DEXPERIENCE World is available both live and online.

The event is presenting talks from more than 320 technical training sessions and 30 meet-up sessions, and certification opportunities. The event includes an expo,  “the playground,” which showcases sustainable innovations such as the cardboard furniture below.

The show also featured the Giant Mesh from Exosapian Technologies, which is featured in the video below:

  • “Simulation Without Limits”: Adding simulation to the product development process enables designers and engineers to address challenges, make better decisions, and reach optimal designs faster. This features experts from PES and Resemin.

  • “Futureproof Your Manufacturing” looks at how the industry can overcome the growing skills gap and resulting labor shortages, and how technology can help. Features experts from American Manufacturing Renaissance, Behlen Manufacturing, Mavens of Manufacturing, MetalQuest Unlimited, Inc., Northern Industrial Manufacturing, Titans of CNC, and Todd White of Metal Works.

  • “The Future of Design”: presents updates on the SOLIDWORKS design and collaboration tools that provide the flexibility to develop and bring products to market on desktop or cloud. Features experts from Boston Scientific, House of Design, Sealed Air, Storyteller Overland, and X Custom Engineering.

“This year’s 3DEXPERIENCE World is about imagining all we can achieve together,” said Bassi. “After two years of being physically apart, we have created an on-site experience where we can reconnect through the power of experience, discover the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and create a more sustainable future through the power of community.”
