Apple’s iPhone has a long and storied history. In Part 1, DesignNews chronicled the early years of the smarphone. In Part 2, we look at the innovations over the past six years, covering iPhone models 7 through 14.

Compared to the earlier years of the iPhone, Apple has expanded the lineup in recent years, adding both smaller and larger, more powerful versions of the basic phone. Also, rapid advancements in display technology, cameras, and processors have all filtered down into these iPhones. Apple has also substantially upgraded iOS versions to provide many new capabilities too numerous to describe here.
