Charging Personal Media Players

JingWah PMP-2000 Digital Personal Media Player (PMP) (http://rbi.ims.ca/4911-543). The 2000 mAH battery in the PMP-2000 supports nine hours playback of audio or video displayed on the thin film transistor (TFT) LCD display. The unit's 1.3-megapixel digital camera can also be used as a video recorder. When it is time to charge the battery, the unit uses Microchip's MCP73861 charge management controller. Selected for its high integration of features in a 4 × 4-mm QFN package, the MCP73861 provides 1.2 A maximum charging current and 0.5 percent maximum accuracy.
