Teknor Apex Showcases Its Thermoplastic Elastomers for Medical Applications

The thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) division of Teknor Apex recently compiled a datasheet to showcase their TPEs appropriate for medical applications. The list features Monprene TPE, Tekbond TPE and Uniprene TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizates).

Monprene is a blend of styrenic tri-block copolymer rubber and thermoplastic resins, which feature a range of solidity from hard to gel and a range of colors from opaque to clear. Tekbond is designed for overmolding onto engineering substrates as a soft TPE onto a hard TPE. Uniprene is a thermoplastic with rubber-like properties that is more chemically resistant than Tekbond or Monprene and can replace many rubber applications.

All materials addressed by Teknor Apex for medical applications are FDA-approved and both ROHS- and WEEE-compliant.
